EAs we would put on an FTMO, FundedNext or The5ers challenge, then keep running on the funded account. We pick them for steady gains rather than home runs, and for how they behave in drawdown.

The difference between passing and failing usually comes down to consistency and risk management. That is what we select for.
Most challenges want 8% to 10% within the phase. These EAs aim for steady gains, not the single home run that empties the account.
5% daily and 10% overall are the common limits. Position sizing and a stop loss on every trade are what keep you inside them.
Martingale and grid stacking get accounts closed. We keep them out of this category. Where an EA uses HFT, it is for the firms that allow it and the description says so.
Passing is half the job. Once funded, drop the lot size and let the EA compound. A steady 2% to 3% a month on a funded account is real money with none of your own capital at risk.
Some developers run MQL5 or Myfxbook signals. When they do, the product page links to them. If there is no link, treat the results as backtests, not a live track record.
Tell us the firm and the account size on Telegram and we will help you set the lot size and risk for that challenge.
10% target, 5% daily loss, 10% overall loss. No martingale, grid or HFT. Weekend holding allowed.
Around 10% target on the one-step plan, 5% daily and 10% overall drawdown. News trading allowed on most plans.
6% target with a 4% overall drawdown, tighter than most. No time limit. No martingale or grid.
Rules change often. Check the current rules with your firm before you trade, and treat the figures above as a guide only.
Yes, with the right one. Prop firms are strict about trading methods, drawdown and risk. EAs that do well on a normal retail account often fail on a prop account because they use methods that trigger an instant breach.
The EAs that pass share the same traits: one position at a time, a stop loss on every trade, conservative lot sizing, and no trading through high-impact news. They are built for consistency over flash.
Martingale. Doubling down after a loss is the fastest way through a drawdown limit. Recover nine times out of ten and the tenth still ends the account.
Grid trading. Stacking positions at different price levels without stop losses builds a large floating drawdown. Most firms ban it outright or flag accounts that show grid-like behavior.
HFT and latency arbitrage. Banned by almost every firm. Where it works, the profits get clawed back. Only run an HFT EA on a firm that explicitly allows it.
In the challenge you need a set profit within a time limit, so trading is a little more aggressive while staying inside drawdown. Once funded there is no target, only limits, so most traders cut the lot size and let the EA compound slowly.
DowGold, the #1 recommended EA, is up +19.62% with 3.93% max drawdown on a real $50,000 account, with results published live on MyFXBook. Low drawdown and built for consistency.
