Pivot Point Scalper EA MT5 trades XAUUSD on M15 using daily or weekly pivot levels. You can select a bounce approach, a breakout approach or both, making the intended behavior around support and resistance easier to define before testing.
Three ways to trade a pivot level
The EA plots the central pivot and three support and resistance levels. Candle strength is checked against ATR, while a tolerance setting defines how closely price must interact with a level. The documented target calculation can use a multiple of the distance to the next pivot.
Bounce and breakout modes express different expectations. A bounce seeks a rejection of the level; a breakout seeks continuation through it. Combining them should therefore be evaluated as its own configuration, especially around sessions when gold switches from a range into a directional move. A level displayed neatly on the chart is still only a reference, not a barrier that price must respect.
Additional confirmation and money management
The developer also describes forecast and supply-demand models, EMA pullbacks and candle-pattern confirmations. Position handling includes trailing stops and break-even, with sizing choices and limits for daily loss, positions, volume and margin.
Pay particular attention to the relationship between the selected target and the stop. If the next pivot is nearby, trading costs consume a larger portion of the potential move. When levels are far apart, the account must tolerate the distance and holding time involved. Use the same broker feed for your practical evaluation, because daily candle boundaries and price history can affect calculated levels.
Prepare an XAUUSD M15 test
The developer references $500 starting capital and recommends IC Markets. Treat that as setup context, not a safe lot-sizing formula. Compare bounce-only and breakout-only runs with the same volume assumptions and transaction costs, then inspect their combined exposure. Check that stop adjustments comply with the gold symbol’s minimum distance and volume requirements. Keep a record of the pivot period, mode and tolerance so the configuration can be reproduced.
