Product description
About Index Mean Reversion Expert MT5
A short-term reversion system for major indices
Index Mean Reversion Expert MT5 is designed to assess temporary price dislocations in markets such as US Tech 100, US500 and GER40. Its strategy seeks short-term mean reversion under suitable conditions, with a multi-timeframe market-regime filter and additional momentum and volatility confirmation. Completed candles are used in the entry evaluation.
The important distinction is the intended behavior: it looks for a move back after a dislocation, rather than simply following a directional breakout. A persistent trend can make an apparent dislocation continue farther, so the regime filter and protective exits need to be assessed together. The product name alone does not establish when or how far the market should revert.
Controls described in the public specification
The source lists dynamic risk-based sizing with an optional fixed-lot mode, an ATR-based stop, spread and execution protection, daily risk controls and a maximum position holding time. Friday position management is also included. These are distinct controls: a holding-time rule deals with the duration of a position, while a daily control addresses a different aspect of trading exposure.
The overview does not disclose a mandatory chart timeframe, exact entry thresholds, numeric daily loss limits or the detailed Friday schedule. Those values should be taken from the available inputs and a documented test. Applying default settings from another EA by the same developer would create an unsupported specification for this product.
Strategy Tester comparison modes
Additional comparison modes are provided for the MT5 Strategy Tester to examine behavior under different entry approaches. The developer’s feature graphic names three modes: Signal, Random and Buy & Hold. This gives the buyer a practical evaluation feature: the modes can be compared with the same historical period, symbol specification and cost assumptions. It is not a statement that one comparison mode has already been proven superior.
Record the chosen mode with every test result. A report without its mode or inputs cannot tell you whether it represents the configuration you intend to run. Compare drawdown, trade duration and the distribution of losses as well as the final balance. A strategy designed to revert can have favorable average trades and still be vulnerable to a small number of persistent moves.
Each index needs its own contract check
The three named markets are examples of intended stock-index coverage, not a promise that one universal lot amount has equal risk on all of them. Broker instrument names, contract size, tick value, minimum volume, spread and session hours can differ. Identify the intended instrument and check its properties before choosing either risk-based sizing or fixed lots.
Test the maximum holding-time and Friday behavior against the broker’s actual sessions. The specification confirms those features but does not establish that every position is guaranteed to close before every weekend. Execution availability and the selected parameters still matter. The practical question is how the configured rules behave around the periods in which that instrument is tradable.
Choosing among this developer’s index strategies
This product is an alternative to the directional Nasdaq systems for buyers interested in reversion behavior and test-mode comparisons. It should not be chosen solely because it lists several index names or several protections. Evaluate one documented configuration and instrument first, then investigate whether its behavior transfers to another contract. The public description provides the feature scope; the actual account evidence has to support the settings and market being considered.
