Gold H4 Swing Expert MT5 waits for a pullback inside an established gold trend, then requires price and RSI confirmation before entering. Completed four-hour candles provide the signal context. Equity-based sizing, ATR exits, one-trade-per-day defaults and a 12-hour cooldown make this a selective higher-timeframe XAUUSD system.

The H4 trend and pullback sequence

A bullish background requires EMA 50 above EMA 200 and price above EMA 200; bearish conditions reverse those comparisons. The EA then waits for interaction with the fast EMA area. The default pullback lookback is five candles, with a tolerance of 0.35×ATR around that average to accommodate ordinary gold volatility.

For a buy, the completed confirmation candle must close above the fast EMA, be bullish and show renewed upward movement. RSI must fall within the configured buy confirmation range, whose default is 50–68. For a sell, the candle closes below the fast EMA with bearish direction and renewed downward movement; the default sell RSI range is 32–50.

This sequence is more specific than simply entering whenever two moving averages are aligned. A suitable retracement and confirmation must also appear, and all trading protections must permit the entry. The developer notes that frequency may be relatively low because the strategy uses H4 with multiple conditions. A quiet period can therefore be consistent with its design.

Volatility-based exits and equity sizing

Stop Loss uses ATR 14 multiplied by 2.20 by default. The target uses a 2.50 risk/reward setting, making the initial Take Profit distance approximately 2.5 times the initial stop distance. Every position is described as opening with calculated Stop Loss and Take Profit, though actual fills and realized outcomes can differ from those initial distances.

Automatic risk sizing uses account equity and the distance from entry to Stop Loss. The default risk is 0.50%, with an optional fixed-lot alternative and a default maximum lot of 1.00. This equity basis differs from the free-margin basis documented for some of the seller’s other gold EAs.

Default trade-frequency controls allow one trade per day and impose a 12-hour cooldown. Daily realized-loss protection defaults to 3%; once reached, it stops new entries for the remainder of the broker trading day. Realized loss is the stated measure, so this should not be treated as a promise that open equity drawdown can never exceed 3%.

Operating the higher-timeframe strategy

The risk framework also includes spread and margin checks, broker Stop Level and Freeze Level protections and single-EA-position control. A broker/server-time session filter is available but disabled by default. The source states no martingale, no grid and no increase in position size after a losing trade.

Use an H4 Gold/XAUUSD chart and confirm the broker’s symbol and contract specifications. In testing, inspect the five-candle pullback window, the ATR tolerance and the signal bar that confirms entry. Gold can move substantially within a four-hour candle, so a slower chart does not itself imply low monetary risk or immunity to gaps.
