Gold channel direction with fractal and volume confirmation
Donchain Matrix EA MT5 uses a Donchian Channel, Williams fractals and a volume threshold to select gold grid entries. Its MT5 setup includes fixed or risk-based sizing, per-direction pending-order limits, triggered exits and a detailed chart dashboard.
Channel direction and two confirmation checks
The source calls the method Donchian Volume Matrix, while its listing name is Donchain Matrix. The channel tracks recent high, low and middle levels. Buys are enabled above the middle line and sells below it. Williams fractals then confirm the relevant structural level before the entry arrangement is applied.
The volume condition requires present activity to exceed a 14-period average multiplied by a configurable factor, with 1.2 as the author’s reference. Broker-feed volume is not independent proof of institutional liquidity or a consolidated gold-market transaction total. The filter is a selection condition, not a guarantee that a breakout or trend will continue.
Pending-grid exposure and exit settings
The source explicitly uses a grid with a per-direction pending limit. Its reference count is five for each side, so several fills can overlap. Fixed lots or balance-based percentage sizing must be evaluated together with the stop distance, possible filled count and broker gold contract.
Configurable stops, trailing with optional aggressive behavior, break-even and a profit-in-pips closing condition are described. Their activation thresholds serve different functions; an automatic profit-close condition cannot protect a trade that never reaches it. Spread, slippage, gaps and trading-hour choices remain relevant to realized exits.
Gold chart and dashboard preparation
The overview recommends XAUUSD M5 or M15, with deposit and lot examples. Those author suggestions do not establish universally safe exposure. Validate gold tick value, input units, order minimums and stop-level restrictions, and test each intended timeframe separately.
The Matrix-style panel displays account values, drawdown, open/pending positions, USD/pip P&L, channel levels, fractals, volume comparison and server time. It supports inspection of the actual configuration but is not an independent live-account audit. The high reported profit factor below comes from only about three months of ideal-execution simulation.
