Alpha Trades MT5 Review: Strategy, Risk Controls and Backtests

Alpha Trades MT5 combines regression-based market analysis, volatility filters and configurable order-series management. It supports Forex, gold and other broker-provided markets, with fixed or automatic sizing and separate trailing controls for individual trades, pending orders and series.

Our assessment: the range of sizing, series and exit controls gives Alpha Trades flexibility across markets. The key limitation is evidence: its attractive historical results are developer-supplied tests, with no linked live account or customer reviews at this check. The configuration and data assumptions matter more than the smooth balance curves.

How regression, filtering and order series fit together

Andriy Sydoruk describes an analytical layer for direction and signal strength, a position-management layer for order series, a control layer for profit, drawdown and trading conditions, and an adaptation layer for different instruments. The public description does not disclose the full entry formula, regression window or optimisation process. It therefore supports a description of the architecture, not an independently reproduced trading edge.

The EA can use market and pending orders, with a stated maximum of 14 orders per series. Its description explicitly includes GRID / Trend Corridor. The phrase about excluding uncontrolled grids should be understood as a claim about constraints, not evidence that grid exposure is absent. A capped series can still accumulate correlated risk, margin use and floating losses.

Sizing and protection: distinguish a control from a guarantee

Fixed lots and automatic sizing are offered, with automatic calculations tied to balance, stop-loss or volatility. The developer suggests 1–3% risk per trade, but the page does not establish that this is a total portfolio limit. Several simultaneous trades can create much greater aggregate exposure. The $100 minimum-deposit statement is likewise not a substitute for checking minimum lots and contract sizes.

Drawdown controls can be expressed in account currency or percentages; the source also describes profit-based closure and a trading stop at predefined limits. The public page does not fully explain every trigger’s scope. Before relying on one, establish whether it blocks new entries, closes a series or affects all positions. EA-managed controls depend on the terminal and execution being available; gaps and slippage can alter realised exits.

What the original backtests actually show

All twelve gallery reports use H1 over 1 November 2018 to 1 November 2025, with a displayed $10,000 initial deposit and 1:100 leverage. They are separate single-symbol simulations. None is a verified live account, and the reports should not be added together as though they were a jointly tested portfolio.

  • EURUSD: $90,096.62 simulated net profit, profit factor 13.08, 5,313 trades and 2.24% relative equity drawdown.
  • XAUUSD: $66,756.54 simulated net profit, profit factor 17.68, 3,122 trades and 2.95% relative equity drawdown.
  • AUDCAD: 5.95% relative equity drawdown; AUS200: 5.72%.
  • Bitcoin and Ethereum show 83% history quality; Ethereum Classic shows 74%, below the 98–100% shown in several other reports.

These are unusually favourable historical figures and have not been independently reproduced here. The cropped result panels do not provide a complete input set, full execution-cost assumptions or an independently audited out-of-sample record. A high history-quality percentage alone does not validate a strategy, and lower-quality cryptocurrency data creates an additional limitation.

Large simulated returns need proportionate scrutiny

The Brent report shows simulated net profit above $111 million from the stated $10,000 start. Its relative equity drawdown is 16.26%, while a different maximal-drawdown line shows 1.40%. Those are different report measures; quoting only the smaller percentage would misrepresent the risk shown. Silver likewise shows 15.74% relative equity drawdown. Compounding and instrument assumptions need to be understood before comparing such reports with a practical trading account.

Broad market support does not mean one universal preset

The source says its settings include 331 instruments across several asset classes. This is a supported-symbol claim, not evidence that all 331 were independently validated with one configuration. Broker symbol suffixes, lot sizes, trading hours, swaps and price increments vary. A Forex preset should not automatically be treated as suitable for oil, an index or crypto.

The listing presents H1 as the main timeframe, H4–H1 as more active, and D1 as more conservative. The shown reports are H1; they do not demonstrate the same results on D1. Lower trading frequency alone also does not guarantee lower drawdown. Test the actual intended settings and inspect open equity, not only closed balance.

Updates, documentation and customer feedback

The latest dated release entry at our check was 12 September 2026. The release notes contain short build labels rather than a meaningful explanation of algorithm changes, and some labels conflict with older overview text. We therefore do not infer new features or improvements from the update date alone.

No separate public manual or live signal was linked in the main description, and the product’s review tab displayed no reviews on 17 September 2026. The public comments page also contained no customer discussion. There are consequently no genuine buyer-review excerpts to screenshot or independently monitored results to analyse.
