Dragon Ball EA MT5 Review: Seven Gold Strategies and Risk

By 6 min read

Dragon Ball EA MT5 is a XAUUSD robot with seven selectable strategy modules, an H4 breakout foundation and added daily-breakout logic from ET9. Its useful distinction is control over the strategy mix: DB1–DB7 can be enabled separately, while fixed or automatic sizing, dynamic exits and profit protection shape the resulting exposure.

Our assessment: relevant to gold traders who want several breakout and trend modules they can test individually. The main trade-off is overlapping exposure: more active strategies and more orders do not automatically provide diversification. The public signal link also needs care because it identifies ET9, not a dedicated Dragon Ball account.

This is a source-based review of the developer’s public information checked September 30, 2026. We have not independently forward-tested the EA.

Seven modules, one underlying gold market

The developer describes Dragon Ball as a combination of trend and breakout strategies operating on XAUUSD. Its foundation is H4 breakout trading; the May 2024 release notes record the addition of ET9’s D1 breakout logic, followed by parameter revisions and maximum exit-distance controls in later updates. The public overview does not map every module to a complete entry formula, so it would be misleading to invent seven precise strategy descriptions.

Separate switches still have practical value. You can isolate each module in the tester, keep its settings, then compare the combined run. Several modules may respond to the same gold move, so a smoother combined historical curve would not prove that their risks are independent.

The listing advertises frequent orders but gives no dependable daily order count. Trade frequency depends on the enabled modules, market conditions and configuration. The developer also says trades can remain open for hours and describes the approach as neither scalping nor grid/martingale.

Chart timeframe versus strategy timeframe

The source says the EA can be attached to any chart period while identifying H4 and D1 as its strategy timeframes. Those statements address different things: the chart you display need not be the period the EA uses for its calculations. Verify behavior in visual testing rather than assuming that attachment to M5 turns it into an M5 scalper.

How money management and exits interact

Fixed lots
Requires AutoMM to be false, according to the parameter instructions.
AutoMM
Uses the selected risk profile to calculate size; the four labels are not documented as fixed risk percentages.
Lot multipliers
Scale the global lot size and therefore the exposure produced by the enabled strategies.
Dynamic exits
Stop-loss and take-profit controls include configurable maximum distances.
Profit protection
A switch, start threshold and minimum-profit input govern when protection becomes active.
Pending-order cleanup
An option removes pending orders before market close; that is not the same as closing all open positions.

These controls need to be evaluated together. Increasing a lot multiplier while enabling more modules can increase aggregate exposure even if the risk-profile label stays the same. No-grid and no-martingale claims do not prevent a series of ordinary stopped trades from producing a drawdown.

There is also a documentation detail to resolve in setup: several input names say Pips while their explanations say points. Gold quotation digits and contract sizes vary, so check the actual stop and target distances in a demo order. Do not transfer numerical values from another broker without verifying their meaning.

Read the original report beyond the growth curve

Original Dragon Ball XAUUSD tester curve with promotional 2004–2024 overlay
Original developer test-curve image, retrieved September 30, 2026. Its total reconciles with the report’s net profit plus the initial deposit after rounding. The 2004–2024 date overlay starts earlier than the visible chart axis in 2007. The claim that live results match testing is not independently verified.
Dragon Ball developer test report showing 97 percent history quality, 16270 trades and 43.47 percent relative equity drawdown
Original developer report, retrieved September 30, 2026: 97% history quality, 16,270 trades, profit factor 1.79 and 43.47% relative equity drawdown. The 9.06% figure beside maximum equity drawdown is a different report measure. This is historical testing, not a live account record.

The report shows 97% history quality, 16,270 trades and a profit factor of 1.79. Relative equity drawdown is 43.47%; the 9.06% beside maximum equity drawdown is a different measure, not a replacement for that relative drawdown. A high trade count and a rising curve do not make a large drawdown comfortable or repeatable.

The curve’s headline total reconciles with the report: net profit plus the initial deposit gives the displayed ending total after rounding. The remaining date-label caveat is separate: the 2004–2024 overlay begins earlier than the visible graph axis in 2007. Neither image supplies all settings needed to reproduce the run, and the claim that live results match testing is not independently verified.

The linked signal is ET9 evidence

The Dragon Ball listing links to MQL5 signal 2361170, explicitly named ET9 for MT4. That link is relevant to the developer’s broader work and the incorporated daily-breakout logic, but it does not identify a separately verified Dragon Ball MT5 strategy mix or account.

Even a genuine account result for ET9 cannot establish how Dragon Ball’s seven modules, sizing and exits would behave. The inspected signal also carries large-drawdown and concentrated-growth warnings, plus a notice that changed trading style excludes part of its history from statistics. We therefore do not present its headline return as Dragon Ball performance. Product-specific evidence would need a clearly identified account, platform, settings, start date and drawdown history.

Source age and customer evidence

The inspected listing identifies the last update as August 25, 2024. Its continued availability does not by itself prove recent development or compatibility with every broker configuration. The useful published changes are the revised DB1–DB7 behavior, added daily breakout logic and maximum exit-distance controls; version numbers alone are not a performance measure.

No product-specific customer-review text was available in the inspected listing. The developer profile’s aggregate rating is not a Dragon Ball rating, so we have not converted it into product testimonials or CheaperForex purchase stars.

Dragon Ball versus ET9

ET9 EA MT5 has nine selectable modules, ET1–ET9, while Dragon Ball has seven, DB1–DB7. Both incorporate H4 and daily breakout logic. ET9 also has additional controls documented in its July 2026 release notes. Compare the actual settings and combined exposure rather than assuming that either module count establishes better returns.

For traders using MetaTrader 4, the separate ET9 EA MT4 listing covers that platform. Platform-specific tests and execution conditions should remain separate; this review concerns Dragon Ball MT5 only.

Frequently asked questions

Does using seven strategies guarantee diversification?

No. All seven target gold and can respond to the same market move. Separate strategy switches help testing, but do not prove that their risks are independent.

Does any-chart attachment change the H4 trading logic?

The listing allows attachment to different chart periods but identifies H4 and D1 strategy logic. The display period should not be confused with the internal calculation timeframe.

Do risk levels 1 to 4 mean one to four percent risk?

The public description names four risk levels but does not define them as fixed percentages of equity. Inspect the resulting lots and actual stop distance on your broker’s symbol.

Is the linked live account exclusive Dragon Ball evidence?

No. The listed signal is also used for ET9. It does not establish the performance of Dragon Ball’s particular strategy selection, lot sizing or exits.

Practical checks before relying on the strategy

Start with clearly recorded settings, inspect each enabled module in visual testing, and then check the combined exposure on demo. Include spread, slippage, margin and stop-distance behavior in that assessment. The developer recommends high leverage, but access to more margin is not a reason to increase position size; leverage magnifies the consequences of an over-sized trade.
