Drifter EA MT5 trades gold from an M1 chart, combining internal entry filters with market execution and grid-based basket exits. It waits for a qualifying setup, then manages the combined position toward a target measured from its volume-weighted average entry price.

The compact controls let you select a fixed lot or balance-linked sizing, configure daily drawdown protection and set a high-impact news pause. The neon dashboard brings open positions, spread, sizing and account statistics together, while the underlying entry rules remain preconfigured.

Fixed Lot, Low Risk and Medium Risk modes. The automatic modes scale the starting lot with account balance; their names are not maximum-loss limits.

Exit protection

No individual stop loss on each position. Optional daily drawdown protection acts at account-equity level and requests closure of this EA’s positions.

Account requirements

RAW pricing and MT5 hedging mode. The developer recommends TMGM, VT Markets, Vantage or Fusion Markets; this edition does not support Exness.

Capital and hosting

Developer reference: $1,000 at 0.01 lot, with $2,000 preferred at the same lot size. A connected VPS is required. These are operating guidelines, not loss guarantees.

How the protections work

When enabled, the daily drawdown control follows the account’s highest equity during the broker day. If the configured decline is reached, it requests closure of Drifter’s positions and stops new trading until the next broker day. Execution can overshoot the threshold. Grid additions increase exposure, and there is no individual stop loss on each trade.

The news filter uses an external economic-event feed through MT5 WebRequest. It needs an authorized URL, internet access and current provider data. A news pause blocks new entries while existing baskets continue to be managed. The developer also says the EA does not trade on Fridays; a quiet day does not by itself indicate a fault.

A public account to examine

On 16 October 2026, the developer-linked MQL5 signal showed 126 trades and a 3.42 profit factor, with 7.86% relative equity drawdown. It was a young account, and its displayed growth also needs the deposit history for context.
