De Moore EA MT5 is a gold M5 system combining trend-following, price action and multi-timeframe analysis. The public preset makes some controls inspectable, while the developer’s explanation of backtest differences is central to the assessment. A live account and a newer retail build are not automatically the same experiment.

Our assessment: The strategy requirements were rechecked on 24 September 2026. Account numbers and customer excerpts below retain their original 11 September observation date. This is a source-based assessment, not an independent live trial.

Current product check — 24 September 2026
The current listing continues to specify gold M5, a hedging account and low-spread execution. The public preset and news-feed requirements remain useful setup evidence. Do not assume that the earlier account history was generated throughout by the current retail build or that the live news filter is reproduced by a tester run.
The signal: strong figures, with dates that matter
De Moore ICM is labelled a real account on ICMarketsSC-MT5-3, with 1:500 leverage. At this check it showed 131.08% growth and 1.48% relative equity drawdown. Those are attractive historical figures, but they need to be read with the account’s funding and monitoring dates.

| Funding / profit | $300 initial deposit, $200 additional deposits, no withdrawals; $559.93 profit. |
|---|---|
| Trade sample | 184 XAUUSD trades: 167 winners and 17 losers. |
| Trade economics | Profit factor 10.87; average winner $3.69 and average loser $3.34. |
| Drawdown | Relative balance drawdown 1.28%; relative equity drawdown 1.48%. |
| History | 12 weeks of account history displayed; monitoring start shown as 20 July 2026. |
| Holding time | Average position duration: 35 minutes. |
The average winner was slightly larger than the average loser, alongside a high win rate. That is a more appealing recorded distribution than a pattern of tiny gains repeatedly erased by one large loss. It is nevertheless a sample of one account, and the future distribution can change.
The $200 top-up is funding, not trading profit. Nor should the total percentage growth be treated as a simple return on the final amount deposited. Keeping the funding figures beside the growth number makes the record easier to assess.
The growth table contains June activity, before the stated monitoring start. The product was published on 27 August, later still. Consequently, neither the 12-week label nor the full growth curve establishes 12 weeks of publicly monitored performance by the current retail build.
The signal’s history records earlier new-account, rapid-growth and copying-frequency warnings that were subsequently removed. We do not present those as active warnings today. Their removal also does not turn a short record into proof across different market conditions.
Why matching the build and preset matters
A buyer’s 3 September backtest question reports fewer trades and poor correspondence with the pre-release signal. The developer’s response attributes differences to versions used during development and to a news filter that does not apply in backtests.
This gives you a concrete comparison method: use the same build, preset, broker conditions and overlapping dates wherever possible. An old signal trade that cannot be reproduced by a newer build does not, by itself, explain how that newer build will behave live. The public reply does not document every historical parameter change.
The 2 September release note for version 2.18 records a trading-time adjustment. That is relevant when comparing entry timing. Keep the build number with any saved test so a later update does not make the comparison ambiguous.
What is actually in the public settings file?
The developer links demooreic.set for IC Markets. We inspected the file rather than assuming that every advertised feature has a corresponding control.
- Exits: Takeprofit 395, Stoploss 295, trailing start 75 and trailing stop 55.
- Sizing: AutoLots enabled, Risk 3.0, with ManualLots 0.01 also present.
- Spread: MaxSpread 2.0.
- News: filtering enabled for USD, with 30-minute windows before and after high-impact events.
These are the file’s input values, not recommended settings for every reader. The file does not define all units or the precise risk calculation, so we do not translate Risk 3.0 into a guaranteed percentage loss or interpret each distance as a fixed dollar amount.
The developer’s news-filter instructions require MT5 WebRequest access to https://nfs.faireconomy.media/. A preset with filtering switched on still needs a working data connection. This also explains why a test without the live calendar may admit trades that the running EA would skip.
Customer feedback captured on 11 September
The listing displayed three five-star customer reviews. Below is the opening sentence of Liems’ 4 September review; the complete source adds hope that the early results continue.

Justin Davis praises the apparent correspondence between his broker’s trades and the public signal. Serafin Perez praises the exit discipline and describes the EA as avoiding grid and martingale. Those are customer reports, not an independent audit of the algorithm.
The public preset does confirm Stop Loss and Take Profit inputs. It does not prove every claim about the strategy, and stops cannot guarantee execution at the requested price. Read the favourable reviews together with the backtest question above: different users are reporting different aspects of the product.
Who is De Moore suited to?
It is a candidate for an MT5 trader who wants a gold-specific system, can evaluate a low-spread hedging account, and is willing to track the exact configuration being tested. The developer’s $500 starting-balance guidance is a specification, not assurance that this amount is sufficient for every risk setting.
Before increasing exposure, check that the news feed works, note the actual spread and commission, and compare a sequence of trades rather than a single winning day. Short holding times make execution relevant even when a historical curve looks smooth.
You can also compare DowGold MT5 as a separate gold product. Compare its own strategy and evidence directly; sharing the same instrument does not make two EAs equivalent or eliminate combined gold exposure.
De Moore review FAQs
Why can a De Moore backtest differ from the public signal?
The developer says earlier signal trades used development versions, while the news filter does not apply during backtests. Compare the exact build, preset and dates before interpreting a mismatch.
Is the public De Moore signal a real account?
MQL5 labels De Moore ICM as a real account on ICMarketsSC-MT5-3. Our figures are a dated reading of that public record, not an independent forward test.
Does the small recorded drawdown guarantee low future losses?
No. It describes this account over the observed history. Changes in market conditions, settings, sizing and execution can produce larger losses.
Is a public manual available?
We found a public IC Markets preset and developer setup comments. The manual request in the public discussion was answered privately; no separate public manual was linked from the listing at our check.
