About Chiroptera EA MT5

Adaptive Forex night trading across 28 pairs

Chiroptera EA MT5 is Rob Josephus Maria Janssen’s multi-currency night scalper. It combines limit-order entries during a short overnight session with adaptive position sizing across major and minor Forex pairs. The developer describes single trades rather than a grid or martingale recovery system.

The current design supports all 28 major and minor currency pairs from one MT5 chart. Its learning system changes the allocation between pairs as trading history develops, while news, holiday and market-activity filters decide when to pause entries.

Chiroptera’s main controls

One-chart portfolio: run the selected currency pairs from one chart, with automatic recognition of broker symbol prefixes and suffixes.
Adaptive allocation: recent results receive more weight when the EA calculates pair-specific lot sizes. Embedded learned weights provide a starting point for live trading.
Entry and cost filters: limit-order placement, news and holiday checks, price/volume monitoring, and configurable spread, swap and commission filters.
Position sizing: a balance-based RiskFactor, currently capped at 3 in the documented release, or a static-lot override. RiskFactor is not a percentage loss limit.
Trade supervision: stop-loss and take-profit controls, Friday-session settings, mobile push notifications and detailed session reporting.

Execution and risk details that matter

Chiroptera’s entry window is approximately two to three hours, but an open trade can last longer. The Global Prime signal averaged seven hours per trade when checked on September 29, 2026. Friday settings can reduce weekend exposure; they do not guarantee that every position will close before the weekend.

Check the stop-loss options: the published settings include immediate stop placement and an option to temporarily remove stops during high spreads. The latter leaves the affected position without its broker-side stop for that period. Limit orders and filters cannot eliminate slippage, gaps or losses, and prop-firm compatibility depends on the firm’s actual rules.

What markets does Chiroptera trade?

Chiroptera is a Forex EA for MetaTrader 5. The current overview and release notes support all 28 major and minor currency pairs, including CADJPY added in May 2026. An older 21-pair example remains in the listing, so use the actual pair-selection inputs rather than assuming that example is the complete supported set.

Does Chiroptera use grid or martingale?

The developer describes single trades with no grid or martingale. That does not make the strategy low risk: correlated currency exposure, execution conditions and stop settings still affect losses.

Does a live account need 60 days of learning first?

Not with the current embedded-weight setup. The developer says live trading starts with learned weights included in the EA. A backtest spends its first 60 days learning at minimum lot size. Creating a custom weights file is optional, and does not prove that a broker will reproduce the developer’s results.

Are trades only open for two or three hours?

No. That is the approximate active entry window, not a maximum holding time. The Global Prime signal showed a seven-hour average holding time at our September 29, 2026 check. Positions can last longer, including across a weekend under some settings and conditions.

What stop-loss settings should I check?

Review ImmediateStopLossPlacement and TemporaryRemoveStopLoss. The latter can remove a broker-side stop while spreads are high, leaving the position exposed during that interval. The published StopLoss input also permits zero, meaning no stop. Check the supplied build and chosen settings before enabling trading.

Is Chiroptera suitable for a prop-firm account?

The developer markets it for prop firms and documents a daily-loss guard, Friday controls and immediate stop placement. These do not guarantee compliance. Compare the firm’s equity limits, reset time, overnight and weekend rules, permitted strategy and stop requirements with the actual settings. A fast move can exceed a configured loss threshold.

Which broker and chart should I use?

The developer recommends RAW/ECN-style accounts with suitable overnight spreads. Attach the EA to an appropriate Forex chart, such as EURUSD, with OneChartSetup enabled; chart timeframe is not material to the strategy according to the listing. Test commissions, rollover spreads, symbol recognition and execution on the intended account. A reliably connected terminal or VPS is needed while positions are being managed.

Do limit orders eliminate slippage?

No. Limit orders control the permitted entry price, but they may not fill. Closing trades, stop execution and copying trades across different brokers can still involve slippage or gaps. The current EA includes slippage notifications, which are useful for monitoring actual execution.

What is included with the download and updates?

After payment, the download provides delivery instructions for obtaining the standalone EA files; the text document itself is not the trading executable. Free lifetime updates are included.
