EURUSD RSI Pullback Expert MT5

EURUSD RSI Pullback Expert MT5 combines a long-term EMA trend filter with an RSI recovery signal. It looks for a temporary pullback inside the main direction, then waits for RSI to cross back through a selected level. The default EURUSD H1 setup includes adjustable risk, stops and targets, plus spread and margin checks.

A trend filter followed by a recovery trigger

The EMA establishes the direction in which a pullback may be traded. Above the 200-period EMA, the EA treats the background as bullish. It then waits for RSI to move below the configured buy level and subsequently cross back above it. That recovery, rather than simply being above the EMA, is the stated buy trigger.

The sell sequence is the mirror image. Price must be below the EMA; RSI then moves above the selected sell level and crosses back below it. The default thresholds are 40 for the buy setup and 60 for the sell setup, with RSI period 14. This makes the direction filter and the pullback timing distinct parts of the decision.

Signals use completed candles. The signal timeframe is configurable, although the published starting configuration is designed around EURUSD H1. Changing the timeframe or EMA period changes the context in which the RSI threshold is interpreted, so results from one combination should not be treated as evidence for another without testing.

Sizing and configurable trade management

Position sizing can use a selected percentage of account balance and the Stop Loss distance, or a fixed lot size. The published defaults are 1% risk, a 50-pip Stop Loss and a 100-pip Take Profit. Free margin is checked before an order is submitted, and trading volume can be adjusted when needed.

The stop and target are independent configurable distances. Optional trailing management offers both a distance and a step, but it is disabled in the default configuration. A maximum-spread input screens entries, and a Magic Number separates this EA’s trading activity. The on-chart system information can help confirm the running setup while reviewing a test.

A percentage setting is an input to position sizing, not a guarantee of the maximum realized loss. Execution gaps, slippage and different contract specifications can affect outcomes. Check that the lot calculation and pip distances behave as expected on the specific EURUSD instrument before relying on a historical risk calculation.

Where the pullback approach fits

The distinction from a basic trend-following entry is timing: this EA waits for an RSI retracement and recovery after identifying direction. That can appeal to traders who prefer a defined pullback event to joining a move solely because a trend indicator qualifies. It also means an uninterrupted trend may provide few eligible pullbacks.

A pullback can become a reversal, and an EMA can lag a fast change in direction. Evaluate both sustained trends and choppy periods in the Strategy Tester, then compare the trigger sequence on a demo account. Varying the RSI thresholds may change frequency and selectivity, but a setting that looks best in one interval needs evidence from other periods.
