Fortune MT4 Review: Gold Breakouts, Signal Results & Risk

Fortune MT4 is Shane Lee’s selective XAUUSD breakout EA. It uses pending entries, individual trade exits and optional percentage sizing on the H1 chart.

Our assessment: Fortune offers a straightforward alternative to recovery baskets, supported by a public MT4 record and a useful manual. Its large historical growth deserves attention, but the drawdown and recent losing months make risk sizing central to the buying decision.

How Fortune approaches a breakout

The product description places the emphasis on recent market structure. Pending entries wait for price to reach a qualifying area; SL/TP and trade-management settings govern the subsequent position. Quiet periods are expected. An H1 chart does not mean every trade lasts an hour: the public account reports an average holding time of only three minutes.

The manual describes one active entry rather than a recovery basket, while allowing pending orders on both sides. The release history specifically discusses preventing additional entries in the same direction and allowing another trade from a still-valid zone after closure. These descriptions explain the intended behaviour; we have not audited the executable to verify every edge case.

Fortune’s MT4 signal: growth alongside substantial drawdown

Genuine MQL5 Fortune signal 2363526 capture, 11 September 2026. Historical account figures, not a forecast. Tap to view at full size.
Account
MT4, labelled real by MQL5; VTMarkets-Live 3, leverage 1:500.
Growth / history
797.64% reported growth across 35 weeks of account history. Signal start displayed: 10 March 2026; the monthly table includes earlier history.
Drawdown
32.45% relative equity drawdown; 33.03% relative balance drawdown.
Trade sample
147 trades; 87.07% profitable; profit factor 1.68.
Recent performance
June −1.43%, July −3.27%, August +21.83%, September-to-date −14.79%.

The growth figure is impressive, but it does not mean a smooth path. A loss of roughly one-third from a peak is material. The account also shows withdrawals, so MQL5 growth should not be confused with simply dividing the current balance by the original deposit.

Average profit was $48.99 and average loss $196.15: one typical loss outweighed about four typical wins. That explains why an 87% win rate can coexist with painful losing periods. The maximum deposit load was 50.01%, another reason not to judge the account on its headline return alone.

This history spans changes to the EA and predates its June retail release. It is evidence about that account through time, not proof that today’s settings will reproduce its entire curve. Spreads, fills, sizing and broker specifications can change the outcome.

Why the other $100K signal is different

The listing also links SmiteFX EAs 100K. Several of the developer’s EAs share that link. It is a portfolio reference, not isolated Fortune performance.

At the same check it showed 1.10% growth on FundedTradingPlus-Live, a 25 August signal start and a warning that most growth came from one day. We do not treat the server’s “Live” label as independent proof of deposited personal capital, or use this portfolio’s lower drawdown to describe Fortune’s dedicated account.

Settings that matter in practice

The public manual attachment covers an earlier build. It is useful for understanding the controls, but the release notes take precedence where defaults changed.

  • Spread cap: the September update sets the default to five Fortune pips, described as approximately a $0.50 gold bid/ask difference. Zero disables the cap; it does not mean zero spread is required.
  • Pending-order handling: excessive spread removes pending entries and blocks new ones. A valid setup can be rescanned when conditions return within the limit.
  • Sizing: check whether money management is enabled. A fixed lot does not automatically adapt to account size or stop distance.
  • Small accounts: the developer explains that a calculated lot below the broker’s minimum may be skipped. Raising risk merely to force a trade is not a sensible workaround.
  • Optional protection: closing-candle confirmation and early adverse-excursion protection are described as optional and off by default in the August notes. Check the actual input values before testing.

The manual recommends a single chart instance for normal operation. Running multiple copies can create overlapping orders and increase total exposure. Check the strategy’s behaviour on the intended broker, including rejected orders and actual cash loss at the stop, rather than copying an account’s leverage or risk blindly.

Customer reviews and signal subscribers tell different stories

Dated short MQL5 Fortune MT4 review by Nicholas Tey
Selected original product-review excerpt from 2 July 2026, captured 11 September 2026. Customer opinion, not independently verified performance. Tap to view at full size.

The product page showed five ratings. Written feedback praised the entry structure, early results and developer responsiveness. Two ratings had no written comment. This is a small sample, largely from June and July, and the favourable wording is not a guarantee of future results.

One enthusiastic reviewer claimed there was no risk of account ruin; we disagree with that conclusion. Avoiding grid and martingale removes particular mechanisms, not trading risk. The same customer later discussed false breakouts and July losses in the public comments, which gives more useful context than the star score alone.

The separate signal-subscription feedback includes complaints about copying results diverging through spread/slippage and a symbol-mapping problem. Those concern copying the signal, which differs from running the EA locally. Nevertheless, they underline the relevance of execution when trades can be brief. MQL5 itself flags negative-slippage risk on the account.

Who should consider Fortune?

Fortune is most relevant to MT4 gold traders who want selective breakout exposure and explicit exits, and who can tolerate inactivity and losing sequences. At $134.95, it is accessible as a software purchase; the trading capital at risk is a separate consideration.

The useful next comparison is not simply the highest growth number. Compare drawdown, average loss, execution sensitivity and the amount of history collected under comparable settings. If you use MT5, DowGold provides a different system to research; its results should be assessed on the same basis.

Fortune MT4 review FAQs

Is the Fortune signal an MT4 account?

Yes. The product-linked Fortune account, signal 2363526, is listed under MetaTrader 4 on VTMarkets-Live 3. Its historical results do not guarantee the same outcome on another account.

Does the $100K signal show Fortune alone?

No. It is labelled SmiteFX EAs 100K and is linked by several of the developer’s products. It should not be treated as an isolated Fortune track record.

Does a high winning percentage mean small drawdown?

No. Loss size matters as well as frequency. At the research check, the Fortune signal’s average losing trade was about four times its average winning trade.

Has CheaperForex independently tested Fortune?

No independent forward test or code audit is claimed. This review assesses the public listing, manual, release notes, customer feedback and dated MQL5 signal data.
