Bober Lannister Review: MT4 vs MT5, Night Scalping and Evidence
Bober Lannister EA MT5 combines overnight Forex scalping with built-in portfolio and focused-pair modes, custom presets, directional filters and a drawdown cooldown. The two editions target wider overnight trading windows rather than only one rollover hour. Their appeal is configurable multi-pair session trading; the main limitation is dated performance evidence and customer reports of significant losses in adverse markets.

MT4 and MT5 have separate setup paths
Both listings name EURCHF, GBPUSD, EURNZD, CHFJPY and EURAUD as examples. MT4 describes the individual time, order, sizing and range inputs. MT5 adds named portfolio/focused-pair modes and Custom Setup, with a CHFJPY/GBPUSD mode in its release notes. This is why the product pages explain their platform workflows separately rather than copying one description twice.
Risk controls and the night-session problem
Both versions expose fixed/floating lots, market/limit orders, trade identifiers and a time filter. Later notes add directional controls, drawdown-triggered closure and a cooldown; Friday trading can be disabled. These controls act on rules and requested orders. They do not prevent spreads widening, correlated pairs moving together or a gap producing a loss beyond the intended level.
The developer states no martingale and a wider three-to-six-hour window. Neither claim makes overnight trading insensitive to the broker. Commission, swaps, quotes and liquidity still matter. A small minimum deposit should not be confused with enough capital for any floating-lot setting or portfolio combination.
The old signal is unavailable
Both editions link to signal951062, which returned an unavailable/deleted-signal message at this check. The gallery includes older account images and portfolio simulations, but these cannot establish ongoing current results or identical MT4/MT5 execution. A long-lived product listing is not the same thing as uninterrupted public monitoring.
Historical tests and release history
The original gallery labels different portfolio-risk settings and includes an old build comparison. The curves therefore should not be pooled into a single current result. MT4’s latest listed update is June 2023; MT5’s March 2023 notes concern take-profit behaviour. An MT4 customer can already have the latest public version even when the sales page itself needs refreshing.
Feedback includes meaningful drawdown disputes
MT5 showed 14 ratings and MT4 five. Some reviewers praised ease of use, support and profitable periods. Others reported large losses during strong trends or a difficult November period. A January 2022 reviewer claimed a severe account decline; the developer disputed the stated drawdown and attributed differences to sizing/settings. We cannot independently adjudicate that dispute now that the linked account is unavailable.
A 2019 MT4 reviewer reported an initial drawdown followed by a positive month. Several later MT4 ratings have no written comment, so a displayed star average supplies little detail about current usage. All these comments predate today’s check by years and should not be promoted as fresh performance evidence.

Choosing the edition
Choose the file for the terminal your broker account actually uses. MT5’s portfolio modes and real-tick tester are concrete workflow differences; MT4 users should use MT4-specific presets and inputs. The core due-diligence issue is the same for both: current forward performance is unverified, so test the intended settings and execution rather than relying on historical promotional curves.
