TrendPilot MT5 EA Review: H1 Timing, Basket Compression & Daily Locks
TrendPilot offers a middle ground between a single-candle entry engine and a slower completed-H4 filter. Its H1 reading can react within the hour, but it still requires a closed M15 candle to agree. That timing choice, plus daily profit retention and basket compression, is more useful to assess than the promotional language around continuous trend following.

A developing H1 candle is not fixed information
An intrabar H1 direction can change before the hour closes. The M15 confirmation is based on a completed bar, but the two inputs have different update behaviour. Test what the panel shows during a strong early-hour push that later reverses. The system may respond sooner than a completed-H4 model, yet that responsiveness also creates a different susceptibility to temporary direction changes.
Spacing responds to volatility regimes
TrendPilot describes accelerating, normal and slowing volatility conditions that alter the spacing of added positions. This affects how quickly the basket grows. Compare settings with the same initial lot and exposure cap so that a spacing experiment is not confused with a simultaneous change in risk. A dense stack can make a small pullback more costly than the first trade alone would imply.
The two profit locks have different jobs
The basket lock follows open gains in the current set of trades. The daily lock follows the peak gain accumulated during the trading day and may stop further activity after a retreat. A basket can close successfully and a later cycle can still reduce the day’s profit. Observe reset timing, whether costs are included and which close event actually halted trading in the journal.
Compression, loss cuts and broker constraints
Compression can free margin by closing existing exposure, while individual loss cuts remove a ticket independently. Trailing includes step/offset settings and broker freeze-level protection. Those checks help avoid invalid modifications, but they cannot force a broker to accept a stop during a freeze or a market gap. Stable hosting is particularly relevant when several software-managed exits are active.
How much evidence does the gallery provide?
The source graphic combines a feature overview with performance-style numbers and suggested operating settings. It is not a raw reproducible tester report or an independent monitoring link. A useful comparison protocol
Run the H1/M15 choice against a fixed-H4/M15 alternative on the same symbol, costs and period. Assess entry delay, losing runs during consolidation, the largest combined lot exposure and the effect of the daily lock. More entry opportunities are not automatically better after spread and commission.
