Smart Golden Portfolio: selective gold trading on MT5
Smart Golden Portfolio MT5 is an XAUUSD Expert Advisor by Barbaros Bulent Kortarla. It combines buy and sell trading with configurable position limits, internal exits and account protection controls. The developer describes it as a different approach from his breakout and scalping systems, without grid, martingale, averaging or recovery trades.
Its standard internal timeframe is M30. The timeframe selected in the EA inputs controls its calculations, so changing the chart timeframe alone does not change the strategy. Quiet days are normal: this is a selective system rather than a robot designed to trade every session.
Direction, position sizing and exits
Both directions are enabled by default. You can restrict trading to buys or sells and choose whether a second position is allowed. Lot sizing offers fixed lots, lots per $1,000 of balance, or a percentage risk per trade. These settings let you adapt exposure, but enabling two positions can increase combined gold risk.
Stop loss, take profit, trailing logic and an internal exit condition manage open positions. The internal exit may close a trade before its stop or target. Daily loss, daily drawdown and account equity protection controls sit alongside an optional close-all function, high-impact USD news filtering and Friday trading controls.

What the available results show
There is a public MT5 account on ICMarketsSC-MT5-3, but its record is extremely young. On 13 September 2026 it showed 6.83% growth from only two closed trades and one trading day. That is an encouraging opening, not enough evidence to establish long-term reliability.

The developer’s fixed-lot graphic reports 634 trades and 21.05% relative equity drawdown. Backtests depend on their assumptions; their history should not be confused with the age of the live account. Our review examines both published test images, the early signal and the two customer reviews.

Other EAs from the same developer
We also offer Smart Gold Hunter MT5 and Smart Gold Impulse MT5. Portfolio is positioned differently from those shorter-term gold systems. Owning several gold EAs does not necessarily diversify exposure, and their results do not establish Portfolio’s performance.
