Scipio Velox Quant EA Review

By 5 min read

Available from CheaperForex — choose your platform

Scipio Velox Quant is a rapid trend-following EA offered for MT4 and MT5. The developer describes fixed-lot sizing, one open position at a time, tight stop-loss management and no fixed take-profit target, with a separate pending-order workflow for major news.

Our assessment: the appeal is direct control of trade volume and exit settings without automatic loss-based lot increases. It suits traders who can evaluate low-cost execution rather than rely on headline trade frequency. Its main consideration is sensitivity to spread, commission, slippage and cancellation timing, particularly around news. Sources were checked 26 October 2026; this review is not a firsthand terminal test or an independent reproduction of the developer’s results.

Two platforms, one published strategy description

Stefano Frisetti’s MT4 and MT5 overviews describe the same core approach: follow the prevailing direction during rapid price movement and adapt when direction changes. The source versions and any platform-specific illustrations remain separate. Shared marketing text does not verify identical fills or future performance across platforms.

The developer describes 100–300 trades per day as the intended high-activity design. That is an attributed activity claim, not a promised daily schedule. Faster turnover magnifies the importance of transaction costs and execution quality.

Fixed volume controls scaling, not total losses

The stated default is 0.01 lots, held constant instead of automatically increasing after losses or with account balance. The developer calls this no martingale. It is a source description, not our inspection of the executable. A series of small stopped trades and commissions can still create a substantial cumulative loss.

The source says one trade is open at a time. That limits intended simultaneous exposure, but it should be distinguished from the separate presence of two pending orders in the news workflow. Do not market a one-position label as proof that execution risk has disappeared.

Tight stops and open-ended exits

Stop-loss, break-even and trailing parameters are adjustable. No fixed take-profit target is used, allowing an established move to continue under the management rules. That describes an exit method, not unlimited profit potential.

The listing’s approximate $1–$2 stop wording is insufficient to establish a universal account-currency loss. Gold contract size, lots, broker quote conventions, spread and actual fills determine cash exposure. The developer’s suggested backtest recipe is gold on M15/M30, SL=160 and TRAIL=240, with other controls zero or OFF; confirm the input units rather than treating 160 as dollars.

News orders expose the execution sequence

The described news mode places buy and sell pending orders near current price. After one activates, the algorithm seeks to remove the other. This depends on the broker processing fills and cancellations during a fast market. Gaps, slippage and delayed cancellation can alter the intended outcome. No pending-order arrangement guarantees that news risk is confined to a few dollars.

Low-cost ECN trading conditions are emphasized in the source. A VPS is recommended for continuity, though the EA can also run on a PC. Test commission, variable spreads and realistic delay rather than accepting a favorable tester curve as proof that another broker can reproduce it.

Distinguish tester footage from live evidence

The first developer gallery still shows an MT4 tester/video environment, a gold M5 chart and a balance/equity curve. The identical original is supplied on both platform listings. It is not a separate MT5 live account or independently reproduced test. The full date window, inputs and execution assumptions cannot be established from that still.

Its M5 chart also differs from the M15/M30 backtest recipe in the overview. Those configurations should not be merged into one verified result. A rising tester curve alone does not establish the future drawdown or cash risk of another broker setup.

Read the report separately from its overlay

The report frame below shows a $10,000 initial deposit and $48,039.30 net profit, implying $58,039.30 ending balance. That is approximately 480.39% net gain; ending balance is approximately 580.39% of starting capital. The overlay’s “+580%” performance wording should not be substituted for net return.

Drawdown fields
Maximal: $1,268.94 (2.64%). Relative: 4.08% ($590.10). They use different measures and bases.
Trading pattern
16,320 trades; 633 winners (3.88%) and 15,687 losers (96.12%); profit factor 2.28.
Test conditions
The report displays spread 50 and modeling quality n/a; the overlay claims input spread 100 and 99.90% Tickstory data.

Those differences are unresolved by the screenshot. A data-provider claim does not establish the tester’s modeling quality, and 2.64% maximal drawdown is not the separate 4.08% relative figure. The low reported win rate describes many small stopped trades alongside fewer larger winners; repeated costs remain material.

Original developer tester/report frame, retrieved 26 October 2026; also supplied unchanged in the MT5 gallery. The report shows maximal drawdown of 2.64% and separate relative drawdown of 4.08%. Its spread and modeling-quality fields differ from the promotional overlay; see the review for the figures. Historical simulation, not live results.

The curve frames and report do not supply a complete dated test export with all inputs. They should not be combined into a fully verified run, or treated as proof of current-build results on both platforms. All three MT5 gallery images are byte-identical to their MT4 counterparts, so duplicate copies add no separate platform evidence.

Keep the edition and release history distinct

MT4 source
Version 1.14; published 13 July 2026; update dated 18 July 2026.
MT5 source

Both public change notes say a minor bug was resolved, without enough detail to attribute a new strategy feature or measured performance improvement. No posted public comments or dedicated live signal were identified in the checked MQL5 sources. The developer website could not be retrieved, so it does not fill that evidence gap here.

Public illustrations do not establish identical trades across platforms; compare each edition’s evidence separately.

Use the MT4 product page or MT5 product page for the corresponding offer. For the same developer’s bar-close volume/volatility/momentum system, see our Trendalgo AI MT5 review. A different EA’s results or developer biography do not establish Scipio Velox profitability.
