Nova Range EA MT5 Review

By 5 min read

Nova Range EA MT5 is an automated XAUUSD strategy for the five-minute chart. Vladimir Lekhovitser describes its entry model as an iTransformer neural network, with selective signals, a two-position limit and predefined stop-loss protection. Break-even, trailing, news and time controls provide the surrounding trade-management framework.

Our assessment: the appeal is focused gold trading with explicit position limits and protection. It suits traders prepared to check broker timing and lot-based sizing. The main consideration is its limited monitored record across changing market conditions. Sources were checked 21 October 2026; this is not a firsthand terminal test or independently reproduced backtest.

What the neural model actually promises

The listing attributes Nova Range’s analytical core to a trained iTransformer architecture that examines market relationships and recognizes learned patterns. Published detail is insufficient to assess training coverage, validation or resistance to overfitting independently.

The EA can remain inactive until conditions qualify, then take opportunities closer together. Do not infer a fixed schedule or conventional range-reversion rule from its name: the developer does not disclose a complete entry formula.

Two positions and predefined stops

Nova’s own listing permits up to two simultaneous positions. Its no-grid, no-martingale and no-averaging description is a developer claim, not our inspection of the executable. Two gold positions can still share the same market exposure, and consecutive stopped trades can accumulate losses.

Every trade is described as having a predefined stop-loss, with break-even and trailing management. The shared PrizmaL manual explains that stop-loss, take-profit and trailing logic are built in rather than freely adjustable parameters. Active management also requires a functioning terminal connection. Stops cannot guarantee the requested execution price during gaps or fast markets.

Risk Level is a lot-sizing input

The manual’s most useful distinction is that Risk Level is not percentage risk per trade. It represents lot size relative to each $1,000 of balance or equity. Fixed lots, automatic equity-based sizing and automatic balance-based sizing are described. Equity-based sizing includes floating results; balance-based sizing does not.

Nova’s listing associates 0.02, 0.03 and 0.04 with approximate historical drawdowns of 15%, 25% and 35%. It identifies 0.03 as the signal risk setting. These figures describe source expectations from historical behavior; they are neither account protection limits nor future maximum losses. Higher leverage does not make larger position sizing safer.

Timing and news controls need correct setup

The linked PrizmaL manual is dated 19 January 2026, predating Nova’s 6 October release. Nova’s specific M5 chart and two-position limit take precedence over generic wording.

Set Broker Time from the actual trading-server offset, rather than the broker’s office location. The manual describes spread and trading-day filters, optional Friday closing and a New Year pause. The news filter uses MT5’s native calendar, requiring no external calendar address. It blocks new entries around relevant news; it does not close open positions or move their stops.

Trading history is longer than actual monitoring

The linked MT5 signal was checked at 22:55 UTC on 21 October 2026. Its page carries a Real Account label on Leverate-Live, with 1:500 leverage. We have not independently verified account funding or execution.

The page displays 19 weeks of trading history, but its tooltip reports only 25 days 10 hours of actual monitoring; the recorded start is 14 September. It also warns of no trading activity in seven days. Historical trades are not 19 weeks of contemporaneous observation or proof of an unchanged version 2.13. The $150 starting balance is below Nova’s $500 minimum guideline, not permission to lower it.

Automatic and fixed lots produce different risk

The original reports below cover XAUUSD M5 from 1 January 2021 to 6 October 2026, each with $1,000 initial capital, 1:500 leverage and 978 trades. Both use real-tick data with zero-latency ideal execution, rather than a live broker’s execution.

Automatic, 0.04
Net profit: $135,800.77; profit factor: 4.70. Relative equity drawdown: 32.63% ($12,315.28).
Fixed Lot 0.01
Net profit: $1,313.12; profit factor: 2.75. Relative equity drawdown: 4.50% ($88.82).
Original Nova Range automatic Risk Level 0.04 backtest with relative equity drawdown of 32.63 percent
Developer simulation at Risk Level 0.04. Relative equity drawdown is 32.63%; the separate maximal equity field shows 12.44%. These use different bases, so 12.44% is not the worst relative percentage. Original retrieved 21 October 2026.
Original Nova Range Fixed Lot 0.01 backtest over the same period with relative equity drawdown of 4.50 percent
Developer simulation using Fixed Lot 0.01 over the same period. Different sizing changes exposure substantially. Original retrieved 21 October 2026; neither test confirms the public signal’s settings or establishes future returns and losses.

What the developer’s history establishes

Lekhovitser’s profile references his 2008 Automated Trading Championship result. That is developer background from a different competition and strategy, not a Nova Range track record. Likewise, results from Pivot Breakout or Mavrik Scalper should not be transferred to this EA.

The checked listing showed version 2.13 and no public Nova buyer reviews. Developer background and a rising curve cannot substitute for broader independent experience across different market conditions.

Before running it on a live account

Use a hedging MT5 account, XAUUSD M5, the correct server offset and conservative sizing. The minimum is $500 equivalent with leverage of at least 1:30. Check contract size, minimum lot, spread, commission and slippage on the intended broker. Use distinct Magic Numbers for other EA instances and assess their combined margin exposure.

Verify it yourself

Compare the Nova Range MQL5 listing, the shared PrizmaL settings manual and the developer-linked Nova Range signal. Check fresh trades, deposits, withdrawals and floating equity alongside headline growth. Past results do not guarantee future performance.
