Explosion Potential Review: MT4 Strategy, Tests & Drawdown

Explosion Potential is an MT4 Forex EA built around fair-value gaps, liquidity-sweep checks and SuperTrend direction. ATR, ADX, spread and trend-duration filters refine its entries, while capital-based sizing and bounded position chains control how it builds exposure.

Our assessment: the explicit signal and exit controls make it an interesting candidate for users who want to configure a layered price-structure strategy. The main consideration is evidence quality: the public gallery contains unusually large simulated profits, conflicting quality labels and no linked live monitoring record. This is an analysis of the specification and original reports, not our own funded-account test.

How the entry filters fit together

The initial structure is a fair-value gap large enough to meet SignalFVGMinSizePoints. The liquidity-sweep control determines whether that condition must also be present. SuperTrend establishes direction; ATR filtering aims to screen small fluctuations; spread, trend duration, ADX and signal-strength thresholds add further checks.

These are configurable conditions rather than an assurance that the system identifies genuine institutional activity. More filters can reduce the number of entries, but the specification alone cannot establish that every extra filter improves out-of-sample results. Check which filters are enabled in the preset being evaluated.

Capital allocation and sequence risk

AutoCapitalRegulationOn enables automatic sizing. CapitalExposureRatio and BaseContractSize define allocation inputs; PositionChainDepth limits the sequence, and AllocationScalingExponent changes allocation by depth. The developer says it does not use Martingale recovery, unlimited pyramiding or unrestricted grid recovery. That claim should not be shortened to “no position scaling”: scaling and multiple positions are explicitly documented.

The reports display a chain depth of 10 and scaling exponent of 1.6. Those are historical test settings, not a suggested risk level. A bounded number of positions still needs adequate margin and a check of combined worst-case exposure. The public listing does not establish a fixed maximum account drawdown.

Profit, loss and trailing controls

ProfitCeilingPoints and LossFloorPoints set individual exit distances. Optional trailing begins after TrailEngagementDistance and advances by TrailStepPoints. CorrectionStrategy can be switched off with zero. Independent long/short switches, a strategy identifier and execution tag help organise separate instances.

The InstitutionalExecutionMode label refers to alternative order handling. It is not evidence of institutional fills. Point size, stop-level restrictions and commissions must match the actual broker and symbol; do not transfer a number between instruments without checking its meaning.

Read these report limitations first

The ten screenshots are MetaTrader strategy tester reports on H1 Forex charts, not trading-account statements. They display an initial deposit of 10,000 and spread 20. Most show a 2016–2026 historical period; USDJPY and GBPJPY show an actual start in January 2024 even though the parenthesised requested range starts in 2016.

Two labels conflict within the images: the report quality field says 99.00%, while the graph caption says 90.00%. The public material does not explain that discrepancy. The reports also show extremely large compounded profits and changing trade sizes. We reproduce the original images without treating those figures as verified returns or a realistic forecast.

Maximal drawdown and relative drawdown are different report fields. For example, EURUSD displays 2.90% beside the largest money drawdown but 16.56% in the relative-drawdown field. Selecting only the smaller percentage would misrepresent the report.

Major-pair reports

Explosion Potential EURUSD H1 original tester report

EURUSD: 1,406 trades, profit factor 8.72 and relative drawdown 16.56%. The report shows a simulated net profit of 4,536,417,256.71 from the 10,000 initial balance. Such an extreme compounded result particularly needs reproducible settings, realistic position limits and independent forward evidence.

GBPUSD: 1,356 trades, profit factor 11.41 and relative drawdown 22.48%. The small 3.32% printed beside maximal money drawdown is not the same measure as that relative percentage.

Explosion Potential USDJPY H1 original tester report

USDJPY: 331 trades, profit factor 8.43 and relative drawdown 17.58%. Its actual period starts on 4 January 2024, so it should not be described as a full ten-year test merely because the requested date range in brackets begins in 2016.

Explosion Potential USDCAD H1 original tester report

USDCAD: 1,443 trades, profit factor 8.10 and relative drawdown 18.41%. Like the other long-period examples, the visible curve accelerates as trade size changes. A compounding illustration is different from a constant-risk-dollar comparison.

Explosion Potential USDCHF H1 original tester report

USDCHF: 1,440 trades, profit factor 8.67 and relative drawdown 15.10%. The actual displayed end date is 21 August 2026, earlier than several other reports. Matching date windows would be necessary for a like-for-like portfolio comparison.

Explosion Potential AUDUSD H1 original tester report

AUDUSD: 1,377 trades, profit factor 11.06 and relative drawdown 23.29%. The report’s 1.50% maximal-drawdown percentage should not be substituted for that larger relative figure.

Cross-pair reports

Explosion Potential AUDNZD H1 original tester report

AUDNZD: 1,388 trades, profit factor 9.65 and relative drawdown 35.16%. This is materially higher than the major-pair examples, illustrating why the same input set should not be assumed to carry the same risk on every symbol.

Explosion Potential EURGBP H1 original tester report

EURGBP: 1,636 trades, profit factor 6.57 and relative drawdown 27.60%. Its higher trade count and lower profit factor form a different historical profile, even though the gallery uses similar visible inputs.

Explosion Potential EURJPY H1 original tester report

EURJPY: 1,452 trades, profit factor 6.88 and relative drawdown 39.64%, the highest displayed relative drawdown among these ten reports. A smooth-looking long-run balance curve does not make that interim decline small.

Explosion Potential GBPJPY H1 original tester report

GBPJPY: 383 trades, profit factor 7.20 and relative drawdown 22.46%. Like USDJPY, its actual data period starts in January 2024. It is a shorter sample than the eight reports beginning in 2016.

What the gallery cannot establish

All ten are developer-supplied simulations. The images do not provide the underlying tick files, a complete execution-cost audit, reproducible raw report downloads or a separately identified forward segment. The quality-label inconsistency remains unresolved. High profit factors across several symbols are interesting to investigate, but they are not a substitute for those checks.

Running several Forex pairs also introduces shared-currency exposure. These separate charts do not show a combined portfolio equity curve, simultaneous margin demand or correlation. Adding them together without a portfolio test could substantially change the drawdown.

Customer feedback, manual and live signal

The Reviews area showed no reviews, and there were no public comments at our source check. There are therefore no customer testimonials to screenshot yet. No separate public manual or live monitoring link was found in the listing or inspected seller page. The listing itself is the available parameter explanation; we have not invented a live track record from its historical test dates.

Compare the developer’s other EAs

Stack Horizon 4 MT4 concentrates on tick sequences and short-term impulse scalping. Its review examines a different evidence issue: MT5 tester screenshots supplied for an MT4 listing. Ultrarealism MT4 is also available from the same author. Choose by the specific entry and exposure model rather than treating a shared author as proof of diversification.

Practical verdict

Explosion Potential offers a detailed collection of entry filters and position-management choices. It is better suited to a user prepared to test the actual MT4 file, understand chain allocation and compare symbols under realistic conditions than someone relying only on the enormous profit figures. The next useful evidence would be a reproducible test with consistent report labels and a public forward record.
